shorelines (BTseries no.5): X Marks the Art

As a part of the City of San Antonio Downtown Storefronts initiative X Marks the Art, UTSA College of Architecture Professor Taeg Nishimoto presented the site-specific installation titled shorelines (BTseries no. 5) at 315 E. Commerce St. (Staacke-Stevens Building), with Britta Moe (M.Arch III) as his assistant. The fabric used was made from post-consumer recycled plastic bottles, and the installation was on view in this location from September 1-26, 2013. Its implementation was so successful that the empty storefront has been leased, and the installation will be relocated with a new configuration at a location still to be determined. X Marks the Art aims to activate underutilized and vacant downtown properties by introducing new creative, dynamic, visually aesthetic installations and happenings downtown.
